DRIVER'S SALON INTERVIEW




Topic: Do you name your car?

-- FGA: Today we would like to talk about the car culture of the country. For example, in Japan people change little things in their car. Maybe the interior, the sound system, the navigation... Do you guys experience this also?

- G-YAN: It might be a little reversed for us.

- SUZY: In Korea, cars are sold to be available at a good price. But, if you want to impress your friends and family, something has to change or become shiny.

- G-YAN: On the other hand, some simple cars are more popular.

-- FGA: Is that so? I know I change things to my preference, do they do that too?

- ALYCE: Some people do different things, but it is mostly the same.

-- FGA: I see. I find that a little surprising.

- TIN: A bare car (one without all the bells and whistles), rides carefully. You cannot permit any scratches.

--FGA: Is that so?

- G-YAN: Don't you think so?

--FGA: Little scratches may happen right? What happens to those who cause the scratches?

- TIN: Well, there are some people who care more about their cars than their girlfriends. If the girlfriend leaves trash in the car, their will be a quarrel. I have heard stories... (laugh)

-- FGA: I see.

- ALYCE: It is a very interesting story.

-- FGA: It seems a little overboard though.

- SUZY: The entire joke revolves around the quarrel.

--FGA: I don't even take care of my car that much.

- ALYCE: In Japan, do you all name your cars?

- TIN: (laughs)

-- FGA: No... not often.

- G-YAN: Really? It's also not that common in Korea. Usually it is the young boy who just graduated and is going with his parents to buy a car. He takes great care in picking a name, which is usually in English.

-- FGA: Really, it can be anything?

- ALYCE: It's the same as naming a dog. You go around asking, "is this a good name?" to other people. The process is the same as naming a dog.

-- FGA: Give me an example of a name

- SUZY: I have a friend who named their car, "TANKIATSY." It was a white car.

-- FGA: TANKIATSY.

- TIN: Forget that, I also have a friend who named their car

--FGA: What was the name?

- TIN: A really simple, generic name: "Buzz."

-- FGA: (laughs)

- G-YAN: Otherwise known as, "The Buzz Inside." (I believe she is talking about the sound of the engine)

-- FGA: It's a cute name. Let's say you're going for tea with your friends, you can just say, "Let's take Buzz."

- SUZY: Haha.

-- FGA: Like, "Yesterday, TANKIATSY got a little scratch."

- SUZY: Yes! I would say, "It's raining, I'm worried about TANKIATSY."

-- FGA: It's nice.

- TIN: It's like naming your daughter.

-- FGA: I think I'm going to name my car.

- ALL: Ha!

--FGA: One may also ask, now that I can get a car, what kind of car should I get?

- G-YAN: I like old cars. Something classic.

--FGA: As in the 1960s? Not for me, I was only born 20 years ago.

- ALYCE: It's usually the same with other people. We usually don't like the same car, but I may have changed.

- TIN: I'm similar to ALYCE, in that I like classic cars. Not as old as the '60s though. A four door white car is nice.

--FGA: Also, on MARCH 15th at Tokyo, "Dream Drive Live" will take place in the Toyota Showroom. Of course there will be live music. As you know, one of the best performers will be there also, FANGIRLS'

- SUZY: Thank you, we're looking forward to it.

-- FGA: This is the sixth year of the event, but the first time I will be involved in producing it. Every year we receive ideas from artists, and it has never led us in the wrong direct. We are in the arranging stages now, and are looking forward to the event.

- TIN: We are looking forward to it also. Will there be various types of cars.

--FGA: Yes. Surely we will have old cars racing new cars. I sat in one of the cars during a rehearsal.

- G-YAN: I want to be in an old racing car!

--FGA: The event is between 3:30 and 5:30 and features a demonstration of the collaborative performance of the racing cars. Admission if free starting MARCH 15th. Then on MARCH 25, the theme song "OUT OF THIS CLUB" is released.

-ALL: No!

--FGA: Haha. Here, the single will be released MARCH 22 and the movie will open MARCH 25. What did you think of the movie?

- TIN: We were very impressed. All our eyes were swollen after watching a sad scene. It is a warm film and we recommend it to everyone.

- G-YAN: Make sure to bring tissue.

--FGA: I see. I really appreciate hearing your stories. I will see you all at Toyota's Showcase. Thank you very much.

-ALL: Thank you!

Tin as a yellow freak, she owns a Yellow Volkswagen New Beetle, which her family bought it for her on her birthday last Feb. 27.

And lastly, Alyce as the driver of the group she owns a Red BMW Z4 that really fits for her personality, where in there's a rumor that Changmin of DBSK choose it for her. How sweet~~~~
