DBSK & FG collab first fanmeeting.
Yesterday DBSK & FG held their very first fanmeeting together in Japan to promote their collaboration album. Thousands of fans gathered that it looked like a concert not a fanmeeting was going to happen. This album has been very anticipated for not only uniting the two biggest groups in Asia right now but also because of the "love connection" between these two groups.
The fanmeeting started with a basketball game-like introduction of each members. One by one members of each groups appeared on stages greeting the fans. The leaders, U-know Yunho and Suzy, acted as the event's MCs.
The absence of FG Alyce was evident. The FG member have been advised to rest for at least a month due to hip injury. When asked about the condition of her co-member, the leader said "it's really unfortunate that she wont be able to participate in some activities but rest assured that Alyce will be with us soon and even better. we need to cheer her on"
The fanmeeting started with the pairs (Suzy & Jae, Yoochun & Tin, G-yan & Junsu) shooting some hoops to determine the order of the duet performances. The pair with lowest points would perform first. Yoochun & Tin shot the least and so they performed first.
The "if i didn't have you" number was a great opening number for the event. Yoochun looked at ease on the piano while Tin had no problem hitting those high notes. We cant help but think what Jaejoong must be feeling backstage at that moment. An interview was followed to which Yunho asked Tin which other DBSK member she'd choose if she wasn't paired with Yoochun. Tin seemed surprise at the question, luckily, Suzy answered for her, "yah! you're gonna get us in trouble again with that question" and pretended to smack the other leader on the head which made the audience laugh.
Another game was played to determine who the next performers are. An apple eating contest was played which was won by G-yan and Junsu meaning that it was Suzy & Jaejoong who would be the second performers. Suzy joked that if Changmin was her partner then they would have won hands down to which amused the maknae. The maknae, on the other hand, contented himself at the corner eating apples.
The Jae-Suzy song was sensual with lyrics like "my body's longing to hold you, so bad it hurts inside" and also the way they connected during the performance. The song sends strong message of wanting someone and letting that someone know what you truly feel. The song also shows the two singer's vocal strengths as it boast of strong notes and melodic harmonizing. Both were all emotions during the song to which at one point Jaejoong touched Suzy's face.
Yoochun took over the MC position with Yunho after the second performance which would mean people are in for a surprise with these two doing MC duties. Yoochun started with teasing them of how they performed. He even went to as far as letting Suzy & Yunho re-enact to which excited the crowd. And as is that wasn't enough, Yoochun next asked Jaejoong and his duet partner, Tin, re-enact the scene that elicited more excitement from the crowd and opposal from the two leaders. The chaos was stopped when Junsu insisted they began the third performance.
Before the last performance for the event a video call was made to Alyce. The FG member stayed at the girls' Japanese apartment. The fans urged her rumored boyfriend, DBSK maknae Max Changmin, to give her a message.
"How are you doing? i hope you recover fast and join us in promotions"
It was short and didn't show any indication of whatever relationship they may have but made the FG member blush and the audience giddy nonetheless.
The duet by G-yan and Junsu fired the already hyper audience. The RnB song was easy to sing a long with and lyrics mentions how a couple needs and wants each other. Mixed those with great vocals and a "story" between the singers and you got yourself a hit.
The game that followed proved to be as "kilig" as all the other members of the group went all out in teasing the two. U-know Yunho even proposed a wedding. But like normal cicumstance, the guy has to propose first. G-yan tried to avoid issues said, "yah! im thinking after this happens, we are gonna get a call from two angry producers" that made other members laugh and left the audience wanting for more. The members made up for it though by singing "where is she/he" before the event ended.
The event ended about 2 hours after it began but the talk about the fanmeeting continued on-line as fans who witnessed it live shared their accounts. some also uploaded pictures that made a frenzy on the web.
Overall, it was a very successful first ever DBSK-FG fanmeeting. The rest of the schedule is still on the works but if this fanmeeting is an indication of what will happen next then, we are in for a really interesting ride.
